Swelling
Stiffness and/or decreased range of motion
Numbness or tingling
Weakness

COMMON WRIST CONDITIONS CONDITIONS
A wide variety of structural injuries and clinical conditions can lead to persistent wrist pain. To ensure you receive the most effective care, it is essential to accurately identify the underlying driver of your discomfort. Rather than simply masking your temporary symptoms, our clinical team focuses on addressing the root cause of the issue to deliver sustainable, long-term relief and structural stability.
Below is an overview of the most common causes of wrist pain alongside their specific clinical symptoms:
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome: This presentation occurs when the median nerve becomes compressed or irritated as it travels through the narrow carpal tunnel pathway in the wrist. Typical symptoms include localized or radiating numbness, pins and needles, and a noticeable loss of grip strength.
Wrist Sprains: A sprain involves structural damage or micro-tearing of the wrist's stabilizing ligaments, usually triggered by a fall onto an outstretched hand, sudden impact, or sustained repetitive strain. It commonly presents with localized swelling, acute pain, and a restricted range of motion.
Wrist Tendinopathy (Tendonitis): This refers to the irritation, strain, or inflammation of the tendons crossing the wrist joint. It is frequently driven by repetitive mechanical loading, such as prolonged typing, manual trades, or playing a musical instrument. Symptoms generally include persistent pain, localized swelling, and tendon stiffness
Wrist Arthritis: The complex joints of the wrist can be targeted by both osteoarthritis (degenerative wear) and rheumatoid arthritis (inflammatory/autoimmune). Both presentations lead to deep joint aching, progressive stiffness, and a reduced ability to comfortably bend or rotate the wrist.
Wrist Fractures: Bone fractures in the wrist or hand are highly common acute injuries, typically resulting from a sudden fall or traumatic impact. They present with immediate, severe pain, substantial swelling, structural weakness, and a significant loss of joint mobility.
