SHOULDER PAIN/CONDITIONS
Did you know that shoulder pain affects roughly 1 in 5 Australians? Whether it’s keeping you from performing your best at work, making it hard to lift your kids, or sidelining you from your favorite weekend sports, shoulder discomfort can seriously disrupt your quality of life.
At Conquer Allied Health, our team of expert Clinical Exercise Physiologists are dedicated to helping you find lasting relief using evidence-based, scientifically proven solutions.

Shoulder issues rarely travel alone. In addition to deep joint pain, you might be experiencing:

Weakness when lifting or holding objects
Stiffness and a tight, restricted feeling around the joint
Reduced mobility when reaching behind your back or overhead
Disrupted sleep and trouble getting comfortable at night
We know you want to move at your peak and live without the limitations of shoulder pain. That’s why our evidence-based approach to clincal exercise rehabilitation focuses on targeting the root cause of your injury, getting you safe, fast, and lasting results.
When you step into our clinic, we don't just look at your shoulder in isolation. We assess your entire upper body and spine to ensure we completely understand why the issue started. From there, we build a personalised treatment plan designed to eliminate pain at the source by settling inflammation, restoring joint mobility, and strengthening the surrounding muscles. Plus, we’ll equip you with the posture, ergonomic, and movement advice you need to prevent future flare-ups and succeed long-term.
COMMON SHOULDER CONDITIONS
Shoulder pain can stem from several different issues, with rotator cuff injuries being the most frequent culprit—affecting hundreds of thousands of Australians every year. Other common contributors include shoulder bursitis, tendinopathy, and osteoarthritis.
Pinpointing exactly what is driving your discomfort is the crucial first step toward lasting relief. The clinical team at Conquer Allied Health is trained to accurately identify the root source of your shoulder pain, setting up a clear, strategic path toward the recovery goals you want to achieve.
Here’s a bit more information about each of the common conditions that can create shoulder pain and discomfort:
Rotator cuff injuries: the rotator cuff is a crucial group of muscles and tendons that wrap around your shoulder joint to keep it stable. Whether from repetitive overhead movements, general overuse, or an acute injury, damage to the rotator cuff typically presents as deep shoulder pain, structural weakness, and a noticeable loss of mobility.
Tendinopathy: tendon conditions affect the thick, durable tissues connecting your muscles to your bones. The two most frequent types we see in the clinic are tendonitis and tendinosis—both of which cause pain and restrict your movement. While both stem from overuse or injury, they happen differently under the surface. Tendonitis is an acute flare-up driven by active inflammation. Tendinosis, on the other hand, is a chronic condition where the tendon tissue gradually degenerates and wears down over time.
Bursitis: Bursitis occurs when the bursa—a small, fluid-filled sac that acts as a friction-reducing cushion inside your shoulder joint—becomes inflamed. This inflammation causes localized pain and swelling. The most common signs of bursitis include sharp pain during overhead movements and a complete inability to sleep comfortably on the affected side.
Osteoarthritis: is a degenerative condition that causes the protective cartilage within your shoulder joint to gradually wear away. While it often develops naturally with age without a single specific cause, it can also be triggered by genetic factors or previous shoulder injuries. Regardless of its origin, the result is the same: joint pain, localized inflammation, and a gradual loss of smooth cartilage.
No matter what is driving your shoulder pain—whether it's one of these common conditions or something else entirely—the expert team at Conquer Allied Health is here to help. We provide evidence-based, scientifically proven treatment and rehab solutions tailored to get you moving freely again.
