What is a Dietitian?
An Accredited Practicing Dietitian is qualified in the areas of food, nutrition, and dietetics. Their goal is to support people to improve their health; assessing diet, exercise, and lifestyle to best tailor their advice to each individual. Dietitians work with a variety of people, including clients with diabetes, food allergies, gastrointestinal conditions, kidney disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, weight management, or those looking to achieve specific athletic or body composition goals. Although commonly labelled as the 'food police', often the overall goal is to improve a client's relationship with food, helping to debunk nutrition myths and often increasing the diversity and satisfaction within someone's diet.
